We’ll See You at the Westerville Repair Café!
Fall in Ohio means a lot of things: cooler mornings, changing leaves, football, and, of course, finding an excuse to get a pumpkin spice latte.
It also means it’s time for another Westerville Repair Café, and AVAY is happy to be part of it again this year!
For the past few years, we’ve joined Sustainable Westerville and the local community for this fun event where people bring in things that are broken, forgotten in a drawer, or just not getting much use anymore. Volunteers are there to see what can be fixed, while everyone gets a chance to learn a little, meet some neighbors, and maybe save something from ending up in the trash.
This year, AVAY will be there collecting electronics that the public would like to recycle. So if you have old electronics sitting around the house that you’ve been meaning to get rid of, bring them along. We’ll be there to help make sure those items get recycled properly.
And honestly, that’s one of our favorite things about this event. It’s not just about recycling. It’s about people getting together and figuring out what they can fix, reuse, pass along, or recycle instead of simply throwing it away.
You might come in with an old electronic device and leave with a repaired toaster, a little more knowledge about your laptop, a bag of donuts, and a coffee in your hand. Not a bad Saturday morning.

You don't have to live in Westerville to attend, and the event is free. There will be people there working on everything from electronics and computers to bicycles, clothing, furniture, toys, and more.
So grab that box of old electronics you've been staring at for the last six months, grab a friend, and come see us.
We'll bring the recycling bins. You bring the stuff you've been meaning to deal with.
And if there's a pumpkin spice latte involved somewhere along the way, even better.
