A Big Week at AVAY: R2v3 Audit, Pizza Party, Recycle Drive, and Honoring Memorial Day ♻️🍕

It’s been a powerful and productive week at AVAY, full of milestones that reflect our values—integrity, teamwork, and sustainability. From our R2v3 internal audit to giving back to our community and honoring our veterans, we’ve covered it all.
🔍 1. R2v3 Internal Audit: Upholding the Highest Standards in E-Waste Recycling
This week, we began our internal audit for R2v3 recertification, the most rigorous and comprehensive certification in the electronics recycling industry. R2v3 goes far beyond just safe handling of materials—it covers:
🔐 Data security and sanitization
♻️ Environmental and public health protections
📦 Chain-of-custody tracking for downstream vendors
🧑🏭 Worker health, safety, and fair labor practices
Only around 600 out of more than 1,000 electronics recycling facilities in the U.S. currently hold this certification, which is why R2v3 sets AVAY apart as a trusted and transparent ITAD and e-waste solution provider.
And we don’t stop there—we also maintain:

🍕 2. Monthly Pizza Party Fun
Yes, we’re all about high standards—but we’re also about high spirits! Our monthly pizza party brought everyone together for some well-deserved fun. Between bites, our team swapped Memorial Day stories and reignited the great pineapple-on-pizza debate (the jury’s still out 😆). These moments of appreciation help build the AVAY culture we’re so proud of.
♻️ 3. Berwick Recycle Drive: Supporting Our Community
We also spent time in the field during the Berwick Recycle Drive, collecting electronics from local residents and ensuring they’re recycled safely and responsibly. Public drop-off events like this are essential to our mission: diverting e-waste from landfills and educating the community on sustainable recycling. Big thanks to everyone who participated!
4. Honoring Memorial Day with Meaningful Action
We paused on Memorial Day to reflect on the service members who gave their lives for our freedom. At AVAY, we’re committed to honoring their sacrifice not just in words, but through action. One organization we admire deeply is Tech for Troops—a national nonprofit that refurbishes and donates electronics to veterans and their families. Through responsible recycling, they empower veterans with the tools they need for job searches, education, and connection.
